November 8, 2023 Meeting Minutes

November 8th, 2023

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Supervisor Lewis followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly 9 Guests

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Bassi to approve of the Agenda as presented with the addition of 12a) under Old Business: Personnel Matter. All ayes: Motion carried.

Public Comments: 4 people spoke

Board Comments: Houthoofd told board that the Loon Lake Sign is in. Bassi asked board if the Waste Site Letters were ok so she can start printing and folding. Board agreed to go ahead.

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Reilly supported by Bassi to approve Minutes from October 18th, 2023. All ayes. Motion carried.

Financial Report: Presented by Bassi..

Budget Report: Presented by Lewis.

Presentation of Bills: Motion by Allen supported by Houthoofd to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Accident Fund Changeover: The board agreed to change our Accident Fund provider to TAC Insurance along with the building insurance.

Tree Cutting RFP info: Low bidder on the removal of the trees in the township is awarded to Timlick Tree Cutting.

MNRTF Grant Application for April 1, 2024 w/ Spicer: The board agreed to contract with Spicer for the MNRTF Grant Application for the Parks and Rec Spark Grant.

Waste Site Personnel Matter: The board has agreed with Lewis’s recommendation to terminate Joe Martins employment at the Waste Site due to finding marijuana and open intoxicants on the waste site premises.

County Parks and Rec Grant for Twp Park Pavilion: Motion by Allen supported by Bassi to apply for the County Parks and Rec Grant for Twp Park Pavilion. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried

New Fire Fighter approvals: Motion by Lewis supported by Houthoofd to approve new Firefighters Kelly Campbell and Eric Kinsey. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried

Committee-Dept Reports: Chief Lauria told board there are Firefighters I and II classes and Hale has 5 attending. The hood for the firetruck that was damaged in the tire blowout will run about 2500. Building Department told board October was a busy month.

Motion by Lewis to adjourn at 7:13. All ayes. Motion carried.
