Treasurer

Township Treasurer’s Statutory Duties

Collecting taxes
The treasurer is responsible for collecting property taxes, including real and personal property taxes, and mobile home taxes.
Managing finances
The treasurer is responsible for tracking revenues and expenditures, issuing checks, and depositing revenues. They also invest township funds in approved vehicles.
Maintaining records
The treasurer keeps accurate records of all income, receipts, and disbursements.
Reporting
The treasurer prepares financial reports and accounts for funds according to the township board or authorized officers.
Policymaking
The treasurer is a voting member of the Township Board of Trustees and may participate in shaping board policies.
Other duties of a township treasurer include
Overseeing township investments, Appointing a deputy, Posting a surety bond, Collecting delinquent taxes, and Performing jeopardy assessments.

When you reach the desired bill to pay enter your name, parcel number and phone number.

You are then asked to confirm your name, parcel number and phone number.

Next enter the amount you would like to pay. You do need to be aware of the fact that they will charge you a service fee of 3.5% or minimum $3.50.  If you pay after the due date and do not add a penalty it will show as a partial payment.

In the next step you will be asked for the credit card holder information. There is also a box to check if you would like to receive an email confirmation.

Also note above the card holder information you will see:
AMOUNT DUE (The amount you want to pay)
GovPayEXP Fee (The GovPayEXP service fee)
TOTAL DUE (GovPay service fee and Amount you would like to pay)

After your Credit Card is processed you will be given a reference number and a View Receipt button to click on. There you can print and view your receipt.
