Regular Meeting Plainfield Township

Eagle Pointe Plaza Wednesday March 16th, 2022 6:30 pm

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Supervisor Lewis followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly Guests: 7

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Allen supported by Bassi to approve the Agenda as presented with the following changes: Add Special Meeting minutes from March 2nd, 2022 to Minutes to be approved. And add Blue Cross Blue Shield rates to Information/Discussion items 10d. All Ayes. Motion carried.

Public Comments: Mike Hoadley for State Representative 99th district spoke.

Allen Berg from the Assessing Office spoke.

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Allen supported Reilly to approve Regular Meeting minutes from February 16th, 2022 and Special Meeting Minutes from March 2nd, 2022.

All Ayes: Motion carried.

Financial Report: Presented by Bassi

Budget Report: Presented by Lewis.

Presentation of Bills: Motion by Allen supported by Houthoofd to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Budget Discussion: Want to set Budget Hearing for March 30th, 2022

School Property Acquisition Update: Hale Area School Board has turned us down on the Township acquiring the property we had mentioned to put up a walking path from M65 to Eagle Pointe Plaza. Lewis invited Township Board to attend the Monday, March 28th School Board Meeting.

Tire Grant Award: Lewis informed board we received $8000.00 from the Tire Grant.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Rates: Presented by Lewis.

Budget Hearing. Motion by Reilly supported by Bassi to set Budget Hearing for March 30th, 2022 at 6:30 pm at Eagle Pointe Plaza in the Meeting Room. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Set Full Time Wages for 2022: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Allen to raise Tait Shellenbargers wages at $17.10/hr, a 3.9 % raise, Cheryl Tylers wage at $15.40/hr, a 3.9 % raise and Patrick Ready at 15.50/hr , a 8.4% increase. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Sixty Lakes . net ( Dave Kalush) Contract Approval: Motion by Reilly supported by Bassi to accept Sixty Lakes.net contract for 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Firemen out of town travel: Motion by Allen supported by Houthoofd to approve out of town travel for 4 fire dept personnel 04/11 – 04/13 for an officers conference. The total cost will be approximately $750.00. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Floor Finishing Proposal: Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to accept Sport Floor Refinishing proposal for refinishing the gym floor for $3610.00. (ARPA Funds) Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Spicer Contract: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Reilly to approve Spicer Contract for both 5 year Master Plan update for Planning Commission in the amount of $15,500.00 and the Parks and Rec plan for $12,500.00. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Motion by Bassi to adjourn at 8:03 PM.
