SUPERVISOR’S CORNER
It is that time of year again and on behalf of all of us in the township offices have a very Merry Christmas and a very joyous New Year. I hope all of your travels are safe and all your loved ones are able to visit and enjoy the season. We all hope that your 2025 year was fruitful and your 2026 is fun, uneventful and memorable.
For now, this posting of my Corner on the Township website will be my only Corner posting out there. We are going to start a Township Offices Facebook after the first of the year that will carry my posts. So say tuned for that.
In this last post of 2025 I want to thank all of our residents for their continued support in our community, at events, programs, decorating and participating in our community. It is a real pleasure to serve such a vibrant and thankful community.
As a last piece of information for you this year, I want to pass along a little peace of mind. As some have you have contacted me and some may have seen the advertisements on TV about protecting your property from theft. I’m not talking about theft of personal property, I’m talking about your real estate, your land and house. There are no restrictions in place to stop someone from registering an illegal false deed on a property other than it is against the law, so is identity theft and it still happens. So we now see companies offering Title Lock which notifies you if anyone registers a document on your land. You can then take action before time passes and you only find out when you’re trying to sell or get your documents in order. But this same service is also offered by our county register of deeds, Erica Earl. It is called Property Watch and allows you to look-up your property in Iosco County and list it under a property watch which will notify you anytime someone files anything on your property, such as deeds, liens, etc. Just go to a search program(Google) and search for “iosco county register of deeds”. Select the first listing and you will be taken to the Register of Deeds home page. On the right hand side select the second box titled “Property Watch” click the “Sign Up Now” and follow the instructions on the screen. This will only cover your property in Iosco County. Good luck and the beauty of this is that it is FREE.

Wanting to find a way to get and stay in shape, consider membership at the Community Center and Eagle Point Plaza. You can come and enjoy pickleball at any time, yoga, cardio drumming, fitness training, walking or some more intense TOWANDA. So stop in and see Roma about a membership. We have family rates and business/group rates also. We would love to see you. When you’re here stop in on Tuesdays to the Plainfield Township Historical Museum.
