Regular Meeting Plainfield Township

Eagle Pointe Plaza Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 6:30 pm

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Lewis followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Guests: 4

Approval of agenda: Motion by Reilly supported by Houthoofd to approve Agenda as presented. All ayes: Motion carried.

Public Comments: none

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Allen to approve Minutes from Regular Meeting March 16th, 2022 and Special Meetings March 21st , 2022 and March 30th, 2022. All Ayes: Motion carried.

Financial Report: Presented by Bassi

Budget : Presented by Lewis

Presentation of Bills: Motion by Allen supported by Houthoofd to accept the bills as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Roofing Update: Received a quote of $3453.00 for fixing leaks in Gym and misc around the building and Resource Center a quote of $62,371.00 for the big hall.

School Property Acquisition update: School does not want to have us acquire the property we proposed for the walk path from M-65 to the Eagle Point Plaza.

Mini Escavator Lease/Purchase: Presented by Lewis.

Park Porta Pots: Motion by Allen supported by Reilly to order 3 porta pots form Wilson Septic for Twp Park, Kokosing Rd Bike Path Parking Lot and Loon Lake Park off of Putnam Road. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Fireworks Contract: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Bassi to contract with Wolverine Fireworks to put on our firework display on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 with a raindate of July 3 2022 in the amount of $11000.00. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Floor Scrubber: Motion by Reilly supported by Bassi to purchase a new floor scrubber in the amount of $5328.00. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Office Build out costs: Motion by Lewis supported by Houthoofd to approve the Build out Cost of the back offices in the amount of $11,885.00. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Eastern Dust Control: Motion by Lewis supported by Houthoofd to approve the increase of .01 for Dust Control. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

First Responder Millage language: Motion by Reilly supported by Houthoofd to approve the language for the August Election for the First Responders Millage. * see attached. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Fire Department Millage Renewal : Motion by Houthoofd Lewis supported by Bassi to approve the language for the August Election for the Fire Department Millage Renewal. *see attached. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Holzer Electric quote : Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to replace S Esmond Sewer Panel and to relocate another panel in the amount of $4850.00. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Roof Repair: Motion by Bassi supported by Reilly to approve the repair work on the Eagle Pointe Plaza roof for $3453.00 and authorize any addition repairs if needed. . Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Committee Reports: Building and Fire Dept reported.

Board Comments: Treasurer announced she has hired a new Deputy Treasurer and she will be starting on June 1st, 2022.

Motion by Bassi supported by Reilly to get her added to the Bank Accounts as of June 1st, 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Supervisor made Board aware of a Cabin on Leased Land that is behind on taxes.

Supervisor also asked Boards permission to order signs for the Bike Path . Will be approximately $700.00. Board agreed.

Motion by Bassi to adjourn at 8:17 pm.
