February 16th, 2022 Minutes

Regular Board Meeting Plainfield Township

Eagle Pointe Plaza February 16th, 2022

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly Guests: 5

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Allen to accept the minutes with the following changes. Minutes from Special Meeting on February 9th, 2022 need to be added as needing approval.

No Public Comments

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Reilly to accept the Minutes from regular meeting January 19th, 2022 with amendments and February 9th, 2022 Special Meeting. All Ayes.

Financial Report: Presented by Bassi.

Budget Report: Presented by Lewis.

Presentation of Bills: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Allen to pay bills as presented.

Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Tricounty Insurance and Farm Bureau Events: Presented by Lewis.

School Property Aquisiton Update: Lewis stated they would be talking about this at the next School Board Meeting on February 28th.

Capital Projects Discussion: Board agrees a good date to have a Capital Project Meeting in March 2nd, 2022 at 6:30 in Meeting Room at Eagle Pointe Plaza.

Storage and Possible Tanning Enclosure: Lewis

New MFR Class Training Class to begin in Spring- 16 to 18 people so far.

Long Lake Launch and Beach from DNR to Township: Board agreed to take back Long Lake Launch and Beach and we will be responsible for upkeep.

Poverty Guideline: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Bassi to approve 2022 Povety Guidelines-asset test $30,000.00. Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

March BOR Dates- amended- Motion by Reilly supported by Bassi to approve BOR dates as follows:

March 8th 2022 from 4:30 – 5:00-organizational meeting.

March 14th, 2022 from 9am – 3 pm

March 16th, 2022 from 3-9 pm

Meetings will be held at Eagle Pointe Plaza in the meeting room.

Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

2022 Cost of Living Wages: Motion by Houthoofd supported by Bassi to approve a 3.9% wage increase across the board for all to be figured into the budget.

Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Elected Officials Wages: Motion by Bassi supported by Houthoofd to increase the following Elected officials with a 3.9% increase. Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

Supervisor Salary: $35,750.00 per year, a 3.9% increase.

Treasurer Salary: $32,675.00 per year, a 3.9% increase

Clerk Salary : $32,675.00 per year a 3.9% increase

Trustee Salary: $5235.00 a year, a 3.9% increase.

Rental Fees for EPP-Review and Confirm: Board agreed to charge State Police $500.00 a month for the back 3 rooms that they are interested in.

Fire Department – 5 SCBA Face Masks Only. Motion by Houthoofd supported by Reilly to approve the purchase of 5 SCBA face masks for the Fire Department in the amount of $4071.60. Roll Call vote: Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Houthoofd, Lewis and Reilly. Nays: none. Motion carried.

No Committee-Department Reports

Board Comments:

Waste Site: Board members voiced concerns about the Waste Site Attendant staying at the Waste Site. Lewis stated he has been asked to not do so.

Forest Service will be bringing Tires into the Waste Site that they are picking up in the woods.

Motion by Lewis to adjourn at 7:15.
