Regular Board Meeting Plainfield Township Eagle Pointe Plaza

Wednesday, September 15th, 2021

Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Lewis at 6:30 pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present:  Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Absent: Houthoofd

Approval of Agenda:  Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to accept the agenda as presented.  All Ayes:  Houthoofd absent.  Motion carried.

Public Comment:  4 people spoke

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Bassi supported by Reilly to accept Minutes from Regular and Special from August 18th, 2021 and Special Meeting on September 1st, 2021.  All Ayes.  Houthoofd absent.  Motion carried.

Financial Report:  Presented by Bassi.

Budget Report:  Presented by Lewis.

Presentation of Bills:  Motion by Allen supported by Bassi to pay the bills as presented.  Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

LLOPA Meeting Time and Date:  A Meeting for LLOPA –Long Lake Properties Owners Association is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at 6 pm in the Meeting Room at Eagle Pointe Plaza.  Zoom will also be available for this meeting. 

AARP Funds Update and uses:  These funds will be available soon.  One part this year and one part will be paid next year.  Possible uses that are acceptable would be Sewer upgrade, pumps and grinder and panels.  Firehall also needs a new well.

Entrance Covers:  Motion by Bassi supported by Reilly to check into prices for Entrance Covers for Eagle Pointe Plaza. Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Fiscal Year Change:  Supervisor Lewis would like to change fiscal year to October 1st 2021 thru March 31st.  Board is in agreement.  Lewis will look into how to get this moving.

Private Road Maintenance Agreement:  No one wants to bed on roads.

Gypsy Moth Consultant Contract:  Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to Renew contract with Neil Swanson, gypsy moth consultant for 2021-2022.  . Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Budget amendment for air packs purchased last year:  Motion by Allen supported by Reilly to accept budget amendment for Fire Department for Air Packs purchased last year.  . Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Consideration of Special Olympics request:  Motion by Reilly supported by Allen to give Special Olympic $600 credit for building use from last year to this year.  So there will be no charge from October 1st, 2021 thru September 30, 2022 due to credit issued.  . Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Fire Dept Radios: Motion by Allen supported by Bassi to purchase 5-800 MHZ Radios and an activation fee of 250.00 per radio as budgeted.  . Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Building on Leased Land Attorney Approval:  Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to pursue legal advice how to handle unpaid property taxes on property on leased land

. Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Motion carried.

Revolving Fund approval for Long Lake Weed Fund:  Motion by Bassi supported by Allen to set up a revolving fund to cover deficit of $13000.00 owed to PLM and Restorative until December Taxes are collected . Roll call vote:  Ayes: Allen, Bassi, Lewis and Reilly.  Houthoofd Absent.  Nays: none.

Committee Reports:  none

Board Comments:  Live 65 this weekend along with Pancake Breakfast at firehall at 8 am on Saturday.  October 22, 2021 is our annual Open House.
