The Bobbsey Twins at the Seashore is a sequel to The Bobbsey Twins in the Country, a second part of the chronicle tying up some plot threads. The first book in the series was The Bobbsey Twins: Merry Days Indoors and Out. This book begins with the children ages 8 and 4. The children age as time passed in the chronology. Once the children reach ages 12 and 6 they no longer age in the books.
