(To each Owner of and Party in interest in property within the West Londo Lake Special Assessment District)

RE:     Pursuant to the Special Assessment Roll, a Special Assessment will be levied against your property.

The West Londo Lake Improvement Board will meet at the Plainfield Township Hall Meeting Room, located at Eagle Point Plaza, 415 East Main, Hale, Michigan, 48739, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019.  The purpose(s) of this meeting is:  To hold a Public Hearing to review, to hear any objections to, and to confirm a three-year Special Assessment Roll for the purpose of renewing and extending the West Londo Lake Improvement Board’s improvement activities for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021 at a cost of $22,000 for 2019 and a 3% increase per year if needed – the Special Assessment District will remain geographically unchanged.  Pursuant to ADA, individuals with disabilities may request aids/services within a reasonable time period to participate in the hearing.  If you need help in this matter please contact the Iosco County Drain Commissioner, at P.O. Any person may appeal and be heard at the said Hearing, which is called pursuant to the provisions of Section 30913, Part 309 of Public Act No. 451 of 1994, as amended.  Act 186 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1973, as amended, provides that the Special Assessment must be protested at the Hearing held for the purpose of confirming the Special Assessment Roll before the Michigan Tax Tribunal may acquire jurisdiction of any Special Assessment dispute.  Appearance and protest of the Special Assessment at the time and place of review is required in order to appeal the amount of the Special Assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal.  An owner of or party of interest in the property to be assessed, or his or her agent, may appear in person to protest the Special Assessment, or may protest the Special Assessment by letter filed with the Iosco County Drain Commissioner, at P.O. Box 58, 420 W. Lake Street, Tawas City, Michigan, 48764-0058, by Friday, September 6, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in which case personal appearance is NOT required.  If the Special Assessment is protested as provided above, the owner or any party having an interest in the real property may file a written appeal of the Special Assessment with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within 30 days after the confirmation of the Special Assessment Roll has been published in a newspaper of general circulation.

The Proposed Special Assessment Roll will be on file in the Iosco County Drain Commissioner’s Office starting Monday August 19, 2019.
