TO APPROVE THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT ROLLS FOR THE 2019 INDIAN LAKE AND BIG ISLAND LAKE TREATMENT AND WEED CONTROL PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP IOSCO COUNTY, MICHIGAN
TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PLAINFIELD, IOSCO COUNTY, MICHIGAN, AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS: INDIAN LAKE WEED CONTROL AND BIG ISLAND LAKE IMPROVEMENT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the supervisor and the assessing officer of the township has reported to the board and filed in the office of the township clerk for public examination individual special assessment rolls for 2019 listing all properties and proposed 2019 assessments within the Indian Lake Weed Control Special Assessment District and the Big Island Lake Improvement Assessment District. The Special Assessment District(s) within which the treatment is proposed and within which the cost is proposed to be assessed is as stated and remains unchanged from the previously approved district boundries and all listed residents have been sent notifications of these hearings.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the township supervisor and assessor using plans and estimated costs for the proposed improvements available at the public hearing and in our offices for review and comment have prepared a special assessment role in the amount of $225 per parcel per district. This rate may rise at no more than 3% per year. Such assessment role is available in the township clerk’s office for review and inspection during normal business hours from the date of this notice through the date of the public hearing.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a public hearing for the purpose of reviewing the assessment rolls and hearing any objections thereto prior to approval will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at:
5:30 pm for INDIAN LAKE WEED CONTROL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
6:00 pm for BIG ISLAND LAKE IMPROVEMENT ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
at the Plainfield Township meeting room at 415 E. Main within the Eagle Pointe Plaza in Hale, Michigan.
An owner, or party in interest, or his or her agent may appear in person or in writing at the hearing to protest the Special Assessment. The owner or any person having an interest in the real property who protests in person or in writing at the hearing may file a written appeal of the special assessment with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within 30 days after confirmation of the Special Assessment Roll.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that Plainfield Township will provide auxiliary aids or services to individuals with disabilities. Persons needing such services must contact the Township Clerk not less than five (5) days prior to the meeting.
