FROM THE DESK OF THE SUPERVISOR
Well, we have been at it
for a year now. It has been very rewarding working for our community. We have
seen a new face on the Hall, thanks to the Lions Club; new signs for our parks,
thanks to the Recreation Commission; a facelift on the basketball courts and
pavilion, thanks to our summer youth workers; more computers and new desks in
the library, thanks to the Friends of the Library; a new Historical Commission
was formed , thanks to a number of enthusiastic and driven community members;
and a cooperative environment between community groups which led to new and
entertaining events such as the return of the Winterfest,
Yankee Doodle Days 4th
of July Event with national exposure
in a music video and the Cars and Colors Celebration in September. We are all
proud to be a member of this community and it shows with the level of
volunteerism that exists within our ranks. We may not be the largest community
or the wealthiest but what we show in our sense of community sets us apart and
above the biggest and the richest. Our robust size and our wealth come from the
members that give of themselves and their time to make our township a great
place to live. Even in the most trying economic times, our community has not
only continued to support area events such as the Iosco County Fair, but have
added new venues and activities as well. Thank-you for everything you have
given our community this past year, it makes our jobs just that much more
rewarding. I can only hope that the next year will be as enjoyable as this last
has been. We wish all of you the very best this holiday season and hope all is
well with your friends and families in the new year.
THANK-YOU
Fred Lewis
