I just want to take this opportunity to mention to the citizens of Plainfield Township that there will be three ballot proposals on the August 5 primary elections, two are renewals and one is a one year millage for our Senior Center.
First we are looking to renew our road millage, this is not a large sum of money but it is needed to continue repairing and improving the roads within Plainfield Township.
Second is a renewal of the Fire Protection millage, I want you to know that we have the finest Volunteer Fire Department in Iosco County and probably in the State of Michigan. They are dedicated to protecting our property and well being.
Third is a one year .25 mills to raise approximately $48,000 for repairs and a new heating system for our senior center. We need to support our seniors here in Plainfield Township, we must not forget what they have and continue to contribute to our community. If we don’t support them who will.

What’s New
A grant from FEMA has been received to purchase a new pumper truck, it is being built in Appleton, WI. We are expecting to receive it sometime in February 2009.
We have rearranged the offices in the township hall to better serve the community. We look forward to people stopping by to check this out. If you have any concerns feel free to contact us at any time.
There have been a few improvements at the cemetery, such as new posts as you enter and some expansion getting under way. Also, a bagger has been purchased for the lawn mower to clean up leaves.
